How It Works

Four steps move any business, from a solo operator to a full-service resort, from unseen by AI to ready for AI systems.

1. Define

Local Business AI Checklist

Each business receives a structured checklist based on its category. It covers what AI needs in order to represent the business correctly, including hours, description, specialties, ideal audiences, seasonal details, and other relevant information.

2. Educate

AI 101 for Businesses

A guided session helps each business understand its checklist, including what should be updated, where those updates belong, and why the changes affect the way AI represents the business. The session is specific to the business type, not a generic AI lesson.

3. Implement

45-Day Completion Window

Businesses get 45 days to finish their checklist and refresh their existing digital presence. Intentful provides direction on what information belongs in which places, such as the business’s webpage, Google Business Profile, and the DMO site.

4. Audit

Quarterly Visibility Review

Each quarter, Intentful audits every participating business’s digital presence against the taxonomy checklist. Businesses receive a report card, and the DMO receives a destination-wide view.

About Intentful's Local Business AI Discoverability Program

Local Business AI Discoverability is a destination-wide Intentful program that helps DMOs and CVBs ensure every local business in their destination can be discovered by, and properly structured for, the AI systems travelers rely on when planning trips.

The program is designed for businesses of every size, including one-person operations such as kayak rentals, fishing charters, and guided tours, as well as boutique inns, local restaurants, and full-service luxury resorts. Businesses do not need technical capacity or a marketing team to participate. The program includes a business-type-specific structured checklist, an educational session for each business, a 45-day implementation period, and quarterly visibility audits.
